In 2003 Jerry and Lori McCabe took over ownership of the long standing Redmond Shoe Repair, located in Redmond, Oregon. In 2011 they relocated to a new location and changed the name to Redmond Shoe, expanding the business from primarily shoe repair, to both repair and sales. The business became a family affair and you could often find the McCabe's youngest daughter, Kylee and Lori's parents, Carl & Donna, helping around the shop. Over the 16 years the McCabe's owned the business, they dabbled in sales of various boot and shoe brands, including Redwing Work Boots, Birkenstock's, Minnetonka Moccasins, Z-Coils, as well as various other shoe related products, from cleaning supplies to insoles and other in-shoe related products.
In December of 2019, after trying to sell the shop for over a year, Jerry & Lori retired from the shoe business.
The McCabe's have spent the last few years enjoying retirement, spending time on their 5 acre property getting some much needed chores done, traveling to Nebraska and back to visit Jerry's family and dabbling in some seasonal work, including Fish Clipping at Wizard Fall Fish hatchery a few weeks a year. Now, Jerry & Lori are beginning the next chapter of their journey together and have decided to take up Birkenstock repair in their spare time. Give them a call today for quotes and services!
